Philosophy of Worship
|
|
It is our firm belief and practice that the sober and reverent worship of God is the primary purpose for the public meetings of the Church of Jesus Christ.
As such, we do not believe that worship involves the elevation or promotion of men. The pastors or ministers in a congregation are but the Lord's servants and they are not to be the "draw" or focus of the congregation's meetings.
It is our firm belief and practice that our worship of God is not for the entertainment of men. God has not called men to preach for the purpose of entertaining men, but to expose them to their sin and their need for a Savior in Jesus Christ.
It is our firm belief and practice that man's worship of God has its foundation in the reading and preaching of the Bible. We believe prayer is an integral part of both public and private worship.
It is our firm belief and practice that our corporate worship is to involve individuals of all ages. Children are to be present in the stated worship meetings of the local church and not moved off to another location for play time, "children's church", or babysitting. A private area for parents to take unruly children (in training) is
available as is a private space for nursing mothers. Both of these places are located where the preaching ministry can still be heard.

Midweek Bible Study & Prayer
|
|
We believe that biblical illiteracy and lack of meaningful prayer are two of the most serious impediments to the work of the Church of Jesus Christ today.
On Tuesday evenings we meet together for a systematic study of God's Word and a time of corporate prayer specifically directed at the furtherance of the work of the Church.
Meeting times and locations vary. Please contact us for more information.
